Brave new world

TwoTwoSix Hollywood Road is a boutique development that sold at very close to Hong Kong's highest prices for one-bedroom apartments. Located in the heart of Sheung Wan - an area best known for its dried fish shops - the four storey building broke three of the city's cardinal property rules: luxury needs an exclusive address, a high floor number and a design that's loud and visibly wealthy.

Inspired by TwoTwoSix's arrestingly chic - yet homely - interiors from celebrated London designer Ilsa Crawford, and informed by Sheung Wan's rich character, we created a sales book called 'Soul Living'. A quote on its opening pages from Oscar Wilde sets the scene: "Nothing can cure the soul but the senses, just as nothing can cure the senses but the soul". Filled with images of charming colonial buildings, one-off designer boutiques, contemporary art galleries and chic brasseries - as well as quotes from well-known locals - the book has a unique atmosphere and diversity all of its own. With a laser cut slipcase - inspired by the front gates - and hidden pages that reveal a surprisingly green view, the book is both an understated and stylish piece of communication.
